Let’s accept it, senior prom is a big deal — there is no need to play it cool. Waking up and looking messy, sometimes even being forced to go to school — oh, what a stress! But then there is the other side — the side where you get to take your shower and become fresh. The side where you, in fact, feel like a celebrity getting ready for the Met Gala You know that in a few hours you will be eating really good food and seeing pictures that are as good as the ones on magazine covers. You get a pop and get ready for your senior prom. You think of your prom date — how are they going to look? Cool or so cool? While dreaming, you also pluck your eyebrows. You think of your wax lady and wish she was there with you; at least you would be able to chat even though you are in pain. Then, here it comes: time for some sparkle. You go to your friend’s room and beg them: “Can you please do my make-up, or at least the foundation? I don’t know how to do that, but I can handle the rest. You find yourself wearing a foundation that makes you look as white as a ghost because the foundation is clearly too light for your skin. Yet, for the sake of covering teenage and stress acne, you decide to keep it. You watch your friends get ready, as if they will be walking next to Kim Kardashian in a moment on the red carpet. You miserably try to do your own hair, which you eventually dislike and find someone to change for you. You mess up your makeup too, anyway. But then, once you are done putting your heels on, it is time for you to hop in the car so you can go to your senior prom. Suddenly, you realise: your good youth years are almost gone.
